Christmas Lights

In case anyone needs some help -- Fixing Your Christmas Lights.

See I fixed all mine and they shine brightly in my blog (header and footer background).  Actually, I prefer the term "fairy lights", that is what my children call them.  Sounds happy!

November is all over already!
Ya better watch out -- Santa Claus is watching you read my blog.

Chocolate Cinnamon Bread with Sugar Crust

I saw this recipe and had to post it so I would not lose it.
I love cinnamon and chocolate!

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cocoa powder
pinch ground cloves

Preheat the oven to 350F and thoroughly grease a 9×5″ loaf pan.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, waiting until the previous egg has been completely incorporated before adding the next.
In a medium bowl, sift together all purpose flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
In a measuring cup, whisk together buttermilk, water and vanilla extract.
Working in two or three additions, alternately add the flour mixture and the buttermilk mixture to the sugar mixture. Begin and end with an addition of the flour mix.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
In a small bowl, whisk together topping ingredients: sugar, cinnamon, cocoa powder and ground cloves. Sprinkle evenly on top of the loaf cake.
Bake at 350F for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool in pan for 10-15 minutes, then run a knife around the edge and turn out onto a wire cooling rack.
Cool completely before slicing.

Makes 1 loaf.

Numbers Game

After seeing LadyG's post titled 9 promises of happiness, I got to thinking of a Numbers Game with titles of books. songs, or everyday phrases or things.

For instance, examples -

The 12 Days of Christmas
99 Bottles of Beer on the wall
The Seven Wonders of the World
The five continents
Pennsylvania 6-5000
A dozen eggs

What can you come up with? Play along!
Thanks!

Cream Cheese Frosting

Wow!  I thought I would post this since I love making carrot cake!  This frosting sounds great to use on my Pumpkin Tea Bread also as well as a dark chocolate cake or brownies!  Or even a filling for Ginger Cream Cookies like Raggedy Anne liked to have at tea parties.

Beat 8 oz. cold cream cheese (not rock solid, but it means you can use it straight out of the refrigerator) with 5 Tbsp. softened butter and 2 tsp. vanilla until combined. Gradually add 2 c. powdered sugar that has been sifted after measuring. Continue to add more sifted powdered sugar until you reach a consistency and sweetness that fits your taste
