How do I delete my TBlog account?
How to delete your account
-- You need to tmail Rocky or Nickster (put t hem under bookmarks, just type in each name separately, and tmail either from there) or email
support@tblog.com and ask them to delete the account for you.
It is too bad that you cannot delete accounts on your own (no auto delete) but I think the reason why is that they base the number of accounts they have to potential advertisers.

Deleting your Blog's Content -- if you wish to shut down or close your account -- you will need to go to My Blog in your control panel, then My Posts. You have to delete each entry separately one by one -- which is a pain. The comments will be deleted as you see them but as long as the poster of the comments still has the comments listed under "My Posts" in their account, they can still see all the comments posted even though your original post was deleted.
You will have to delete all your TBlog photos and comments too in the same fashion.

How to subscribe to some one's TBlog -- go to your bookmarks --> add their user name --> click on the option of "subscribe to this blog".  You will get a notification only in your email account associated with your TBlog that there is a new post but no details.  There will be a click able link.  I have found that the link often does not take you to the proper blog so I guess it is hit or miss.

Problem -- TFriends, inviting someone to be your friend or vice versa, is not completely working 8/06.  You can only add people to your bookmarks by typing in their user name.

Problem: Some people could not view my blog. They were getting kicked off or saw a strange page, or something about "activeX control".
From smallwonder -- Try removing your music from your page.  (It worked, and thanks!)

Problem: Lost Posts -- solution: before you publish or edit your posts, make sure you copy them first so all you have to do is re paste them rather than writing them all out again.
Or just write them in word first and then copy and paste into a post.

Problem: No one leaves a comment in my blog. No one posts in my blog.
You need to turn on your comments (under Blog --> Blog Settings).  You can have no one comment on your blog, only members of TBlog, or any one from anywhere on the net which means spam (more on that below) at times may be posted in your blog.

Problem: My tBlog stat counter is not working!
This is common and happens from time to time and for extended amounts of time.  You may want to get your own counter if stats are important to you.

What does being "invisible" mean? --  If you are checked into your account and click "invisible mode", then you can view other people's blogs without showing up on their stats.  This feature is not working 8/06.
You can view other people's blogs without checking in if you have them under your own bookmarks.  You can read only if you do this.  If you wish to comment, you need to be checked in. People who have comments set to "members only", if you are not checked in, you do not see the comments, just the post.

What is a non-TBlog visit in my stats mean? -- it is a visitor who is viewing your blog and is not a member or is a member in "invisible mode".

Java-scripting -- not accepted in blog posts but can go in your HTML box/es.  Counters often contain java-scripting codes.

Java-scripting redirects -- A visit to a TBlog but you are redirected to another web site/page off of TBlog.  This is against the TOS and COC that member agreed to when they signed up.  If you run across a blog like this, please report the member who has abused the system to support@tblog.com. Nick or Rocky will take care of it immediately.

How do I change the font color in my comments? -- You need to go --> My Template --> Tweak My Template and play with color codes, font size, and font family. Click save and then view.  It is best to use a post with comments on it already, open up a new window of that post and keep it opened.  After you play with your codes, and save, just refresh the opened window to see how your changes look.

TBucks (found under "My Account" in your control panel)-- what you earn simply by people visiting your blog and other mysterious criteria.  You can spend your TBucks on fun stuff to enhance your blog.  It is possible that if you buy many of the features presented and then you change your TBlog template, you may have to earn more TBucks to buy those same features over again.  Think carefully before changing your template if you have already bought features.

What is the tblurt for? -- It is like a chat box if you wish to converse with another member publicly or say hello when you stop in.  You can also announce a new post on it. People can directly go to your blog by clicking on the little orange dot.  The little green dot takes you to their profile. Announcing a new post once is enough.  Members don't like spammers. This is what makes tBlog a real community.

What is spam? --  besides being a canned meat -- Spam is the constant repeating of the same message in one place (like on TBlurt) to get attention.  A spammer is one who spams.
Spamming is the act of constant spam.  No one likes spam, or a spammer who is spamming.  Most people ignore them and this can lose you potential visitors to your blog. Spam, spammers, spamming is against the TBlog TOS and COC.

If you have opened comments that anyone on the net can post to your blog, it may be spammed by a spammer who "professionally" ; spams anyone anywhere on the net.

To remove spam comments in your blog, go to My Comments and delete the offensive material.

Spam is ugly.  No one likes it on the net or on the TBlurt.
The actual term spam comes from a Monty Python skit where that is all that was on the menu or mentioned. Although the skit is funny, the over use of the word spam is annoying just like web spam, annoying to the eye.

What is a SpamBot?
If your comments are opened to the public, you may find unwanted comments on your blog and there will be many of them.  They happen automatically to many blogs with open public comments here. You may have to turn your comments off from the public for a while.  This comes in spurts or waves.  It is a nuisance to deal with.

Is there comment verification or approve comments to prevent spam or spam bots?
No comment approval or no comment verification.

What is a HOT BLOG?  How do I get on the HOT BLOG LIST?--
Everyone wants to know the answer to this mystery, but much of the secret formula is based on how much or often you post to you own blog, how many comments you left in other people's blogs, and how many visitors you have coming to view your blog.
According to the TBlog management, the list is updated weekly.
If you want visitors, you need to provide quality posts, interesting articles that make people interact with your blog.  It is also wise if when you receive comments you reply back to the commenter and acknowledge what they have contributed to your blog.  Comment responses would work for you in the long run and could put you on the HOT BLOG list.
To remain on the list, you need to update your blog frequently so you can acquire a regular viewing/read ing audience.  Getting a regular audience takes time, effort, and a lot of work on your part.  It does not happen on its own.
Your dedication is the most important part of consistent blogging and keeping your readers interested.

More on Hot Blogs -- text file, opens in a new window.

Can I use AdSense on my blog? -- yes you can.  Copy and paste the code into one of your designated HTML boxes.  Make sure you pick a good template to work with to do this.

Can drafts of posts be saved and stored on site? -- No, tBlog does not have that feature. The only thing you can do is compose your entries in a word program, save in a file, then copy and paste the post from there.

Can dates be changed/altered on a post?
No, you cannot post date a post or predate it.
We do not see the dates on a post in our controls as they are not visible like on other sites.

What is a sticky post? Can I make a sticky post?
A sticky post is a post that can appear as the number one post to your blog.  It could be old archive post that you revive or a new one you just want to stay as the first post a visitor would see when visiting your blog. tBlog does not support sticky posts.

Where is the track back feature? -- There is no automatic "track back" feature.  A track back is when you are blogging and need to use an article for reference in someone else's blog but link it in yours through this feature. The workaround here is that you get the post URL code from the other blog and link it to yours using the link box in the editing tool bar on the advanced editor.  A bit more work, but it does the same thing - provides a link.

Can I alter/customize my tBlog template to my liking?  Yes and No.  You have choices but you cannot take away links that tBlog has left on the template.  On some of the templates you can add backgrounds found on the web then upload into your tBlog pictures.  You can only alter what each template allows according to the CSS boxes in the "tweak my colors" under "template"  ;so test a few of them out.  My template, as of this writing is the clean and simple Almovara 6/06 (links/archives in java boxes, tBlog ads at the bottom of the blog page) , I can only add a Hex color background and that is it.

tBlog does not allow a complete code view like you can alter at some other sites.

Are there any post categories or tags/word clouds? -- No.  If you have a web page, you can code your own category page there and link here (see mine as an example at the top of the page). Otherwise your post gets put into the community category versus your own blog categories.  There are no tag files or word clouds however, tBlog does put your post into a Google search fast. If you wish to add ZoomClouds, you can do that by getting an account there and following the instructions to add the coding to one of your HTML boxes.

Is there a way to eliminate my blog from a Google Search?
tBlog does not have the option to make your blog or posts private.
You cannot be exempt from the Google Search.
All of your enteries go into the Community Categories where anyone can see your post when you post it with the first few sentences.  Anyone can click it on and be taken right to your site.

How do I add links to my Navigation bar?
Go to My Blog
Go to My Template
Go to Add/Edit Links on the tool bar. (far right).

All you need to do is add the URL and the name of the URL.
You can choose the order your links go in by putting a number in the box.
You can also choose to have that link when clicked on open a new window so your blog stays opened underneath.

Comments welcomed!

Congratulations for your interesting blog.
I'm an American-Spanish Jew who loves literature and cats. Lately, I'm thinking seriously to move to Yelniç, a small village on the Anatolia's plains and buy a cabin there. But, meanwhile, I will continue reading and writing to feel me alive.
Do you like poetry? This poem by Benjamin Fondane, another Jew, naturally, reflects many things. He wrote in French, but I'm sure that you will understand it perfectly:
“Toute l’histoire me suit, --suis-je un résidu ou un terme?
A la lumière du sang je redescend en moi-même,
toutes les routes se croisent, toutes les races se toisent.”

Shalom!

This page is priceless. All the basic rules for engagement are here, and with any luck I'll soon be well-mannered and house-broken for tBlog company!

Inkspector, you're a true human-servant.

Namaste.

Hi Julienne -- thanks for stopping by and asking a question. The template I am using currently is the Sport template -- you can add a background to the top and bottom of the page and a banner (like my "The Ink Blotter"). On the sidebar and footer, you can customize by using the HTML boxes on the My Blog --> Template Chooser --> HTML boxes. The About You text is a fixed component and cannot be removed. You can code what you want here or add your picture using the #1 HTML box.

As you can see in my sidebar, all the "extras" are above the Archive and Link list, as those are fixed on most templates also.

You might want to check out my tutorials on Template Tweaking 1,2,3. in the sidebar links section. I have a review of all of them. I also have linked files that takes you through step by step, a few of the template controls.

If you are unsure of anything, take a few clicks around some of the other blogs to see what template they are using. Ones with three colums are the Default template and you can do lots with that one also, including increasing the number of pixels each section is.

Hope that helps. Stop by again.

You cannot delete any of the sidebars on any of the templates. Archives and Links are all fixed on all templates.

The yellow or blue template has fixed sidebar components that you cannot alter period.

What is there stays there, you can not rearrange it.
At the presetn time the only HTML box on the yellow and blue template is under the blog portion and above the footer.

In your controls go to --> My Blog --> My Template
--> Add/Edit HTML --> you will see 5 boxes where you add your codes.
BEWARE ---> Not all five boxes work on all templates.
On the yellow or blue template, you can only fill in Box #1.
As stated -- it will show up under the blog portion and above the footer.

The only sidebar editing you can do is with any links you post that will appear on the sidebar (Add/Edit Links).

If you want sidebars to edit and add widgets too, you need to choose the Sport Template or the Default template.

If you read the tutorials here, you can find the help you need on how to do that.

Basic HTML codes are provided for here in this blog, you need to read the tutorials and customize to your own blog to your heart's delight.
