Free service to ping a weblog manually.
What is a ping? If you like someone's blog and want to know when it is updated, by signing up for the free service, you get an automatic ping sound on your puter when their blog is updated so you can visit right away.

Rosie mentions in the comments using Bloglines. This is a service that you use to collect RSS feeds and add them to your Blogline account. You then visit your account and you can view all the blogs you read across the net at one site verses visting each one individually. If you want to actually go to the site, you just have to click on the title and it takes you there. Another feature I love about it, is that you can put everything in files! No need to use a ping service if you just want a one stop view of your blogosphere. Very convenient.
