The Sport Template!

Hello!

I just decided to try a new template and see what I could do with it.
It is the Sport template.

On this one, you can only put a background on the top, footer and the links.
I enjoy changing the top and footer backgrounds.

I kept the body background all white since you could not add a blog body background.  I could have framed it with HEX color.

The barhead contains the house image.  You could put a banner there also. The house is staying till after the holidays then I will change it.

Also, I am using a background when I do block quotes.  I hand code those in the HTML box.  You will see background usually when I post poetry.

This template has three HTML boxes.
One and two are where my avatar and links to the "word of the day", "quote", and "on this day in history"&nbs p;are.
The third one is on the footer but I have nothing to add there yet, maybe a Google search on this site.

I still am going to play with it and tweak this template a bit more.

I tried the Pink one but there were no HTML boxes (no images or counter can be added on the side/navigation bar) on that but you could add backgrounds on the main page, the blog, links, and header.  If you wanted a plain and simple blog with some backgrounds, the Pink one is a good one to try.

What do you think?
What template do you have?

Check my sidebar for more template help.

Pastor Dave had an issue with the Sport Template side bar and his blog width here are some detailed notes on how to increase/decrease the size of either one.

I don't know what mine is... it's been virtually the same since the day after the '04 election. Did my best to make sure it didn't change much even when we went through the big format excitement earlier this year.

I think yours is the tBlog default with the three columns. The center is your blog and the two side columns you can add all that HTML links and goodies to it. You have done a nice job with it.

Not looking forward to another format shake up.

You need to go to Your Blog --> My Template --> Add or Edit HTML. Click on the link that shows you where you can add your HTML on your template, there are numbered boxes, and you can add your codes in those boxes.

You need to remember that on the Default template you are using, the Archives, and Links are fixed by tBlog and you cannot move them so any HTML will come underneath those. On the right hand side, you can add all your codes and arrange them any way you desire.

Hope that helps.

Nick has alluded to that there will be. When, I have not a clue.

Yours is the tBlog default. You can really customize that one.

I hadn't heard Nick say anything about more new formating. Ugh! I really don't want to do that again. I got a bazillion people dropping in that thought they had hit the wrong site and I probably lost alot of readers. :-/

Your's, however, is absolutely gorgeous! I love that pic at the top there!

Thanks -- I was just playing and after all the coding decided I better keep this one because I would forget what I have done and have to start all over again.

I had lots of "shalom" spam for a few days along with the ". . ." spam. I told Nickster and he cleaned it up for me. Check out his blog for the info. He was on the tBlurt and mentioned it also.

Thanks -- your blog looks like my former blog. ;-)

I had to adjust the slide show I formally had on the Almo Vara template by decreasing the height and width code so it did not stretch out the white section and not overtake the blog.

Thanks. I had one with wrapped packages that had a bit of sparkle to it but it was too heavy. This one is soft.

I am going to do Valentine's next after the holidays.

I LOVE the new look, inkspector. Really like the Christmassy house and the blog part of it looks like a whole front yard full of the snowy stuff ;> Cool.

I don't know what my template is - I tried adding some HTML in the Add or Edit HTML place but it didn't work for me. To be quite honest, I'm from the old school and built my website (not here at tblog) from scratch, but I DGI as far as tweaking the template stuff. I'm going to have to explore your Tips&Tricks area for awhile, I can see ;> Enjoy your new look, it's great!

Very classy, I actually like it better than the busy quality of the scrolling thingy.

No clue as to what i'm using, and tend to think I'm kinda stuck with it. tBlog and Mac don't seem to have a very friendly relationship [sniff.]

I think you have the Blue template.
Did you check to see where the HTML boxes actually are on the template?
Go to My Template --> Add or Edit HTML
There is a small link to see where it will go on your template.
Click that on and then you will see the numbers that coordinate with the boxes where you can add your HTML and where it will appear on the page.

I think, if I recall correctly, the HTML boxes fall under the fixed links or under the actual blog.

The tBlog Default template, you can add lots of HTML to either side columns and you can also add a background.

Thanks rosie -- I love the pink HEX color in your blog.
You use the tBlog default template and I love how you kept it simple and very clean.
