Unwritten sung by Natasha Bedingfield

The radio has been playing this song a lot and I like the message.
You are the captain of your soul and ship.  You are responsible for the words you say or write and how they effect other people.  Let your words and actions take you on a positive journey through life.

Featured in the movie "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants".

"Unwritten"
recorded by Natasha Bedingfield

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, yeah, yeah

This song is also used as the theme of MTV's show The Hills.
It is also used in the Pantene TV commercials.

YouTube videos:

Unwritten -- Natasha Bedingfield is taking an elevator ride while singing, as people come and go.  I like the gospel singer possee arriving and how they jump and jive in the elevator.  I like this one better than the one below.

Unwritten -- Natasha Bedingfield -- a little book, cover frame has Natasha singing, comes to life and struggles as it takes a journey/adventure, more of a fantasy.

...the rest is still unwritten...I love this song...and all it has to say. I've never really looked at the lyrics written down--like it even more now. Thanks for posting it.

Yes, it took me a few times to understand the lyrics myself and then I looked them up.
The song has a great inspirational message.

BTW -- I can't get into your blog to visit. :-(

You probably have heard this song and did not know it!

They are using it in the new Diane Keaton movie, "Because I Said So" -- she plays an over zealous mom looking for the perfect husband for her youngest unmarried daughter.

I hope it becomes a theme song for some young people who struggle with themselves until they find their passion.

More ice than snow. Olympic sized ice rink in my yard.
Great for practice for the next games. I am sure to win Gold. Maybe a routine to this song may be a good idea.

I love this song too! The message was purely inspiring, we are the one responsible for the lives we have.
