Add a Search to Your Blog or Website

Here are some sites that offer a free basic copy and paste code to add a search onto your website or blog.
You just need to copy and paste the code into your HTML box and you are good to go.

Use the <*center*><*/cen ter*> codes before and after the code to center your box or link. (Remove the *s from the code example.>

Google Search Codes There are three copy and paste codes, the last one you can add your URL to. This code/image fits best on the top of a page or on the footer as I have it. JoseParis has his at the top under his banner.

Google Blog Search Page -- Just add this as a link to the page. Use the "open new window" link code to keep people on your site. (Like, when you click any item on my blog, my blog stays underneath the new window opened.)

BlogBar Get a copy and paste code for a small colorful widget to add to your side navigation bar. You get to choose your color.

Free Find You get a search page and a result page that you can customize. There are ads. You can hook up a few sites (if you have a few) with one search BUT there is a limitation as to how many web pages they will index before you have to pay. When someone visits your blog -- that is one page -- if they click on the comments, then that is a second page. Same goes for a click onto the archives equals one page, and a click onto an article into the archives equals a second page. Pages do add up especially if you have many visitors.

Bravenet You need an account and with that one account you get all sorts of freebies BUT they do all come with ads and pop ups.

Good luck! Comments welcomed.

Adding a search box in blogs and personal pages makes navigation easier and faster, very useful indeed. Btw, thanks for mentioning me inkspector! :D

Just change the color in the code to
** transparent ** (without the stars).
That should work.
