Linked Word Ads in Posts?

WOW -- I have heard some people mention this but have not seen if on my tblog or anyone else's.  Maybe it is because I have an ad blocker or use Firefox?

Some members are mentioning "linked word ads" in the posts?

Do you see this on your blog or anyone else's?
What about my blog, do you see this?
When did this start since I have not seen it.

I will go check this out on the library computer.
If this is the case, then I think my blog must be a mess but I just don't see it. Poor visitors.

Hi Ink, I've found them in the comments section on our side were we see them and not the reader.

Oh you mean in the user control panel? I see that, like a banner ad at the top of the page.

When I read the other blog there, the user leaving tblog because of "linked ad words", I thought he was talking about the posts -- words in the posts showing links to ads. This happened over at another blog site that is now plagued with issues similiar to tblog. No one knew that the powers that be, added linked word ads and if you moused over them, a pop up would appear with the ad. Annoying.

Ok -- just for the record.
I do not see an ad on the main page or in my controls.
I see a "Put your Ad here", something like that going vertically on the screen in a small gray box.

So other people can see ads and I noticed I think Tampi asking, "what ad do you see?".

I don't see a thing but that box suggesting that you could place an ad there.

its certain words that get highlighted in the mails and an ad banner stating place your ad here i have already seen some adult sites asking us to click

Not in the actual posts, but in tht comments section and all over the tblog home pages.

More disturbing... yesterday, one of the ads they had that I did not even click on took me to a "naughty" site, so that isn't cool. I think my mouse might have just went over the ad block and my anti-virus popped up and then it took me to a "naughty" site though when I went back to look at the ad it did not make any reference to that. Not cool.

Thanks -- that is quite frightful.
I noticed when I have come onto the site, I get a popup "blank" but there is nothing on it. That started a few weeks ago.

I had no idea and now wonder what the heck is going on?
I am wondering if there was some sort of hijack keywords in the system?

Yup, lots of little underlined words all over the actual tBlog pages. I haven't seen them on any blogs. Gross. I think I picked a good time to pick a new host. :-)

I am going to have to check another computer to see if I see this or not.

Did you get my Blogger tip about post dating all your old posts there? Did you find that under the post box, under "options"? I hope so!

I don't, on my home computer. And I think I know the reason why. I've gone through some real irritation with Windows Hotmail- they have put a huge ad on the right third of my reading pane. So, I found an add-on call GreaseMonkey, downloaded some additions to it that someone suggested on a forum, and low-and-beholdm the ads are gone! And I use Firefox, by far the superior web browser.

If I can figure out how to repeat the steps I have taken, I'll share them with my friends here on t-Blog. It works like a charm. The big ad-window at the top of the page is gone, and no underline-links!

Thanks Pastor Dave! I must have something on my computer that prevents me from seeing all the links and ads everyone is talking about.

I think many tbloggers would appreciate a quickie tut on ridding themselves of this evident annoyance.

You are so right about FireFox -- it is a great web brower and alerts you to unsafe sites as you surf.

My big concern is -- I get lots of hits off searches for a few of my posts. I am wondering if linked ads show up for them -- what a horrid mess and visitors would run for hills! I do get this pop up but I see no ad, I wonder if they get that also.

It could be that these ads are put in by the tblog owners or the system got hijacked and spam bots put them (the linked words) in. It would seem crazy for the tblog owners to put in so many smut links like a few people mentioned.

I visited your Vox blog. I am going to add that one to the list on the "help when we are down and out page" in addition to the thoughts (dot) com which mimics tblog community atmosphere a bit has some limitations but lots more perks, and a trip to Vegas to meet other thought members, if you can splurge! Wonder if you use your nom de plume/user name on the name tag instead of your real name?

Your Vox blog looks great -- I did have a hard time with the ad on the header and footer, one popped out at me the size of a quarter of a screen. Scared me silly.

Nice that you can add videos of your grand-daughter there.

Important Clarification Note: Greasemonkey download works with the FireFox Browser.

I was just on Surrogate's blog and noticed the highlighted linked words for cities/towns he mentioned.
However, looking at his other posts for April, I did not see anything else highlighted and linked.
